Christian counseling brings in spirituality as one more tool in your mental health care toolbox.
There’s a scripture that describes my philosophy when it comes to working with others. It’s from Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 and says:
“Two are better than one because they have a more satisfying return for their labor; for if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and does not have another to lift him up.”
I see my role as a therapist to lift people up, to support them as they rise above what they’re going through to feel a Sense of Peace and ultimately transform their lives.
Everyone experiences challenges from time to time and could use a little help.
For those who are interested, I offer Christian/Biblical counseling. It relies on truths from the word of God, the Bible, communing with the Holy Spirit, and being open and honest.
Together, we’ll create strategies and solutions to change your life so you can completely transform mentally and spiritually.
As you may know, the Bible doesn’t shy away from mental health. There are plenty of instances of sadness, anger, anxiety, depression, and transition mentioned in the Bible. But there are also examples of healing, restoration, and resilience.
Why not use those examples as inspiration and for support?
As a woman of faith, I use the word of God, the Bible, and the Holy Spirit for my own mental health.
I have witnessed the miracles that can occur when you invite in God.
I’ve seen people recover from depression, anxiety, and grief to find fortitude they didn’t know existed and change their lives around once they leaned on God.
Instead of keeping your spirituality outside the consulting room, I create the space for you to bring it up. If you’d like, we can pray together during our session.
I know sometimes it can be hard to believe things will change for the better but by working with me and discussing your struggles, I can hold the space and keep the faith until you believe as well.
In fact, I pray and fast every Wednesday for my clients because I want good things for them.
I believe in the power of prayer and fasting, and as is said in Mark 9:29, “And he said unto them, this kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting,” meaning sometimes prayer and fasting is the change we need for clarity, restoration, and peace.
